On June 7, 2010, Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay visited the Village of Maple Park to review the issues facing the village, the county, and surrounding areas. Village President Kathy Curtis and Village Trustee Suzanne Fahnestock addressed several local and regional issues with the Chairman including road maintenance and repair, foreclosures, storm water and flooding, water and waste water issues, downtown redevelopment efforts, commercial development, and residential development. President Curtis and Trustee Fahnestock discussed many of the recent improvements that the village has achieved including hiring a new law firm to represent the village, hiring a new Chief of Police, reorganizing the police department, securing grants for building improvements and infrastructure improvements, and working with the community organizations and residents. The meeting included a brief review of the history of Maple Park, and how we are planning for the future. President Curtis and Trustee Fahnesotck discussed the village’s land use plan and the mutual interests and concerns of both the County and the Village. President Curtis and Trustee Fahnestock expressed their deepest appreciation for the Chairman’s interest and support of the Village of Maple Park and thanked Chairman McConnaughay for taking the time to come out to the village Civic Center to meet and join us for a brief tour.
